A professional digital SLR designed primarily for sports photography and photojournalism, the D2Hs offers low resolution for its class but can capture bursts of 40 to 50 photos at 8fps. It's compatible with Nikon's WT-2A wireless transmitter and supports wireless camera control from a computer. This rugged camera with an integrated vertical grip also supports GPS devices for recording image location data, as well as Nikon's i-TTL and D-TTL systems for wireless flash control. The D2Hs provides standard manual and automatic exposure modes but no automatic scene modes. Among its notable features are light sensitivity settings up to ISO 6400, three tracking autofocus modes, interchangeable focusing screens, shutter speeds up to 1/16,000 second, a 2 percent spot meter, an advanced battery meter, and a time lapse mode. The D2Hs supports Lexar's LockTight secure CompactFlash cards as well as Nikon's i-TTL wireless flash system and its WT-1/1A and WT-2/2A wireless transmitters. Nikon charges $99 extra for its Capture software for processing RAW images and controlling the camera wirelessly from a computer.
