CSI: Pop Photo Special Report

October 2004

Something killed these pictures. Our team of photographic forensic specialists investigates.

PP1004_CSI_mainEvery minute, somewhere, somehow, somebody commits a crime against photography. Sometimes it's a crime of carelessness. Or ignorance of photographic technique.

Here at CSI: Pop Photo, we investigate the tragic results of these crimes—photographs that are murdered in the prime of life. Our Crime Scene Investigation team studies the photos for clues about their technical and artistic demise. Sometimes, what we see isn't pretty. In fact, it can get downright disgusting. But that's OK; it's all in a day's work. We can take it. Can you? We really want to know...

Yes, we're at it again, spoofing a TV series with criminally photographic intent. But it's a parody with a photographic purpose, namely, to show how common mistakes are made. We deconstruct (and, sometimes, reshoot) our "victim" photos to find the source of the errors, so you can correct yours in the future.

And now, on with the show.
