Mentor Series - Worldwide Photo Treks!

Vancouver  | 2006

In the western most corner of Canada lies the rich and varied region of British Columbia. Framed by rocky mountain peaks and surrounded by water on three sides, Vancouver is the largest city of the province, offering a bustling and dynamic metropolis amidst the spectacular natural backdrop of sparkling waters and impressive mountain ranges.

Though this city will gain world-wide attention in 2010 when it hosts the Olympic Winter Games, the Mentor Series was there first to experience the beautiful Canadian province of British Columbia. Along with our Nikon mentors, Mark Alberhasky and Wolfgang Kaehler, trekkers explored the rugged coastal scenery and breathed the salty ocean air while capturing some of Canada’s most breathtaking views.

Travel with our mentors and try out all of the latest equipment from Nikon! Including world class digital SLRs, Nikkor lenses and the Coolpix line of Digital Cameras.

On Vancouver Island, trekkers were able to experience and capture one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. We explored the rainforests, marshes, meadows, beaches, mountains, oceans, rivers, and lakes, taking advantage of the abundant wildlife through our lenses.

After exploring the unforgettable sights outside the city, it was time to experience the city life of Vancouver. Home to an array of world-class art museums, concerts, and shows, magnificent gardens, natural forests, and evergreen-filled parklands, Vancouver was voted the “Best City in the Americas” by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine and our trekkers agreed that the city had an energy that couldn’t be beat.

With opportunities to practice portrait and landscape photography, and special access to a few local haunts, Nikon mentors Mark Alberhasky and Wolfgang Kaehler aimed to please and delivered a first-class photo expedition of the westernmost province of Canada. Trekker Scott Steinke enjoyed getting to Gastown to see the clock and the Vancouver Public Library, “an architectural delight.” Don’t miss our next trip!

I enjoyed my trip trip to the Pacific Northwest.  I made it to Gastown to see the clock and the Vancouver Public Library, that is an architectural delight.  I really liked the workshop.
