I was one of the few “newbies” on the trek. I was learning at a crazy, accelerated rate. But I had shot every possible angle of a horse, down to a rear-end-on photo of a tail. Hmmm…. interesting viewpoint. I pressed the shutter. What about the row of hanging belts? And the box of elastic chiffon ribbons? The feet of the horse vaulting over the jump! I was shooting, ooohing, aaahing and “chimping” when I was struck by a thought. It was as if I had been hit by lightening!
I was a photographer! Not a skilled one yet, but all of a sudden everywhere I looked I saw opportunities. Ka-ching! The reflective motorcycle! Ka-ching! The flame-print sneakers of a kid sitting on the bleachers! Ka-ching! The man on his cell phone leaning on the flagpole! Ka-ching! Ka-ching! I was seeing with a new type of vision! |

Travel with our mentors and try out all of the latest equipment from Nikon! Including world class digital SLRs, Nikkor lenses and the Coolpix line of Digital Cameras.
I am energized to learn all that I can. Since I have returned home, I have entered three contests where the prize is a Canon Rebel XT. I have signed up for two classes at a nearby camera shop and am reading every magazine I can lay my hands on.
I know that I would not have made this huge leap without the Mentor Series.
