RECAP

Vermont in May what great time to visit!! This was a great trek with a little rain mixed in just to challenge us. I met a lots of first time trekkers what fun they had no idea what they where getting themselves into Our mentors were wonderful and they had a lot of great advice to offer even for me, a veteran of these treks. Kevin had some advice for lighting and food shots which I had never done before. Reed was pointing out great shots and helping us with using flash units remotely. We had lots of participants that were new at this one. It hopefully gave them a new fun tool to play with and practice … I am sure we will see lots of it on the Alumni page.

Travel with our mentors and try out all of the latest equipment from Nikon! Including world class digital SLRs, Nikkor lenses and the Coolpix line of Digital Cameras.

This was simply a delicious trip; we stayed at the New England Culinary Institute having wonderful food to eat each day. We actually got behind the scenes to take great photographs in the kitchens. We took pictures from the baked goods, to the main course, to the ice carvings, and dining room. We listened to Jazz in downtown Burlington and we're able to visit the bustling market on Saturday. We visited a 4th generation winery and had a delicious cheese and wine tasting test, yummy. Of course I came home with a few bottles Blueberry, Rhubarb; Cranberry wine….they also had the rare ice wines. I bought some smoked cheese from the Shelburne farm. I took lots of pictures from barns to food and wines to the kitchens and prep work. What a great combination and lots of new friends! If you were on the trip you would understand if you have been on a trek with me you will understand and if you have not yet traveled with me and we meet sometime you will come to understand.
