Chris Alvanas is an East Coast commercial photographer who specializes in capturing kids in a quirky and whimsical fashion. Chris has provided mentoring services over the past 2 years both in Newport, RI and Boston, Ma. His company, Lightyear Imaging, provides digital imaging services to a growing list of clients that include: Nikon USA, Kodak, Safilo Eyewear, Samsonite and Bob’s Store.

Chris has been the featured photographer in the Summer 2005 issue of Nikon World magazine and his images have appeared in the 2006 Nikon Product Guide. In 2005 he provided Nikon with photography tips for the annual Pride and Joy Baby Contest with Best Buy. Chris has also written instructional articles for the NikonPro web newsletter. As an instructor he has developed a unique and fun process in Photoshop and Digital workflow techniques. Chris has incorporated the use of Wi-Fi into his shooting process. He has a comprehensive, but commonsense approach to workflow and the digital process. He has been teaching private and group Photoshop classes for the past 3 years to both the beginner and advanced user.

Chris owns the “Hope Gallery” located in Bristol, Rhode Island. The gallery features a wide variety of regional fine art.
