Travel with our mentors and try out all of the latest equipment from Nikon! Including world class digital SLRs, Nikkor lenses and the Coolpix line of Digital Cameras.
Our skilled production team and professional mentors, Rosanne Pennella and Reed Hoffmann, will lead you on a dynamic photo workshop September 4-13, 2008 beginning in Istanbul, Turkey’s largest city straddling both Europe and Asia as the world’s only city located on two continents. Feast your lens on the vivid and multi textured sites of the infamous Grand Bazaar as you stroll through thousands of shops selling everything from spices, hand painted ceramics and jewelry to the world renowned Turkish carpets. Build your photo portfolio with hundreds of historic photo ops on a “must see” full day tour of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the world, dating back to the 12th century B.C. Capture great photos of exquisite statues and marble sculptures in Aphrodisias, a city dedicated to the Greek Goddess, Aphrodite. Travel through the lush countryside to the unearthly site of Pamukkale; a thermal hot spring that cascades over a calcareous salt plateau where we will photograph the view and then have a chance to sample the therapeutic powers of the spring! Discover underground homes and restaurants and Christian churches in the Valley of Goreme, skillfully concealed in carved out caves. Lastly, enjoy and shoot the views of this incred-ible city from a cruise on the winding Bosphorus strait that divides the European and Asian sides of Turkey. These are just a few of the once in a life time opportunities that you will experience in Turkey. Join Popular Photography on this extensive and exciting photo workshop traversing the cradle of civilization and the center of world history. We are happy to announce that, with the Turkish office of Culture and Tourism, we will be conducting a photo contest for all attendees. We are inviting all trekkers to submit their photos through the alumni section of the Mentor Series website (www.mentorseries.com) after the trek.
