Nikon Coolpix S560 Announced.

Nikon has announced the Coolpix S560, a 10.0 megapixel compact digicam with a 5x optically stabilized zoom-Nikkor lens. The $249.00 SRP Coolpix features Scene Auto Selector for intuitive point-and-shoot experiences. And there is a food mode which "automatically adjusts the white balance when capturing close-ups of food."

There's also Smile Indicator and Blink Warning, which obviously work with Face Detection in Portait mode, and several sorting options in playback mode.

The Nikon Coolpix S560 will be available to consumers in September, 2008.

The full press release follows on page 2.
