Nikon has announced a number of new Coolpix cameras today, including the S710, a 14.5 megapixel pocketable camera, along with the S610 and S610c fraternal twins.
The S710 is, evidently, a marvel of design, with a stainless steel design and exceptional contours. And 3.6x Nikkor optics, too, per the press release. There’s a rez-dropping ISO 12,800 (3MP) option, and 3 inch LCD described as “huge, [and] bright.” Face detection – it’s got it: for up to twelve faces; along with a host of other “Nikon In-Camera Innovations.” Check out the full press release on the following pages.
The S610 and S610c are virtually identical, but the “c” camera packs Wi-Fi that will work at heaps of Wayports ® whether it is a McDonald’s or a Marriot. Unlike many earlier Wi-Fi Coolpix cameras, the S610c can ship video over the airwaves, along with full-resolution still shots. Both the S610 and S610c pack 10 megapixels, optically stabilized 3.6x zooms and quick startup times of about .7 seconds, per Nikon specifications.
All three cameras will be available on store shelves in September, 2008. The S610c has an SRP of $329, the S610 has an SRP of $279 and the S710 has an SRP of $379. Check out the following pages for the full press releases on these three new Nikon Coolpix cameras.
