Ricoh Introduces R10 Camera

Ricoh has upgraded its R8 point-and-shoot with the new R10. The advanced pocket camera retains its predecessor's 10-megapixel resolution and f/3.3-5.2, 28mm-200mm (35mm equivalent) 7.1x zoom lens, but offers a slightly larger LCD---a 460,000-dot, 3-inch screen. Its ultracompact design is also very close to the R8's, but the new camera gains a programmable function button and an Easy setting on the main mode dial for automatic shooting with a simplified feature set. For photographers who prefer to keep things complicated, the R10 offers the same advanced feature set as the R8, with the addition of an electronic level to help keep horizons straight.

The R10 will be available in the U.S. from a limited number of retailers. Go to Ricoh's Web site for a listing of authorized dealers who will carry the camera. Pricing has not yet been announced.
