Olympus, Panasonic and Sigma Launch One-Stop Lens Firmware Update Service

Convenient service offers firmware updates for all Four Thirds standard lenses—even if you mix and match camera and lens brands.

November 3, 2008

A joint update service for Four Thirds lenses has been launched by Olympus, Panasonic, and Sigma. Photographers can update firmware for their Four Thirds System Standard lenses regardless of camera brand. Prior to this announcement, users could only update lens firmware when the lens and the camera were produced by the same manufacturer.

Now, if you use an Olympus DSLR and a Sigma Four Thirds lens or a Panasonic DSLR and an Olympus Four Thirds lens, you can update the firmware for those lenses.
